Over the last nineteen years, I have learned the traditional techniques of painting which have allowed me a certain painterly freedom to express myself and convey my physical response to nature and light. I work directly from the landscape I am painting in and never refer to any photographic media. The first and last mark in my work is always about investigating facts in nature.
I was born in 1954 and grew up in Notting Hill in London where I still live. I spend a lot of time in Suffolk by the sea and in Southern Spain and Africa.
